The only third-party company South Dakota authorizes to order vital records (birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates) is at VitalChek with an option to order online using a credit card. Fees for S.D. vital records are $15.00 per copy (ordered from the County Register of Deeds office) and $26.50 (ordered through Vital Chek) or $44.00 (ordered through Vital Chek with overnight shipping).
A reminder to all residents that the first half of property taxes is due by April 30th. There are several convenient ways to pay. The Yankton County Highway Department will begin their summer hours on Monday, April 07, 2025 and will run until further notice.
Summer hours are Monday through Thursday 6:30am to 5:00pm.
