The Yankton County Government Center and all other non-emergency offices in Yankton County will be closed on Thursday, June 19th, 2025 in observance of Juneteenth.
Reminder: Yankton County residents that have last names starting with K and L have until June 30, 2025 to renew vehicle registration.
The only third-party company South Dakota authorizes to order vital records (birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates) is at VitalChek with an option to order online using a credit card. Fees for S.D. vital records are $15.00 per copy (ordered from the County Register of Deeds office) and $26.50 (ordered through Vital Chek) or $44.00 (ordered through Vital Chek with overnight shipping).
The Yankton County Highway Department will begin their summer hours on Monday, April 07, 2025 and will run until further notice.
Summer hours are Monday through Thursday 6:30am to 5:00pm.
