Important Information to Know
In accordance with the Federal Driver's Policy Protection Act of 1994 and South Dakota Codified Laws 32-5-144 through 32-5-155, proof of ownership and a government issued photo identification card must be provided for all motor transactions.
Please bring proof of ownership when renewing. This can be in the form of the following:
- Postcard/email renewal from the Department of Motor Vehicles
- Title(s)
- Registration(s)
- License plate number(s)
Reminder: Yankton County residents that have last names starting with M and N have until July 31, 2024 to renew vehicle registration.
