2021 Commission Meetings

The Yankton County Government Center and all other Yankton County non-emergency offices will be closed on Monday, May 26th, 2025 in honor of Memorial Day. Thank you to the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Reminder: Yankton County residents that have last names starting with H, I and O have until May 31, 2025 to renew vehicle registration.

The only third-party company South Dakota authorizes to order vital records (birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates) is at VitalChek with an option to order online using a credit card.
Fees for S.D. vital records are $15.00 per copy (ordered from the County Register of Deeds office) and $26.50 (ordered through Vital Chek) or $44.00 (ordered through Vital Chek with overnight shipping).

The Yankton County Highway Department will begin their summer hours on Monday, April 07, 2025 and will run until further notice.

Summer hours are Monday through Thursday 6:30am to 5:00pm.
